New Castle County Headquarters

New Castle County’s need for records storage was large, but the scope of the project was just as important.  Immediate installation of an initial high density storage system had to occur  within the confines a a very tight timeline and future expansions were planned for over time. 

The Montel Quadramobile system was the answer.  Modular flooring allowed the original system to be expanded twice within a 2 year period. And a second system was installed in the same room.

New Castle County has a mix of storage needs, including file folders and archive boxes.  Montel’s exclusive 1 meter wide shelf provided exactly the right amount of space for three archival boxes to be stored side by side.  This allows them to adapt to their new storage facility without having to switch boxes from what they had become accustomed.

This 2012 project included installing mobile systems in three areas of the building with shelving suitable for files and archieve boxes.  The three systems included 122,250 linear filing inches for letter size files and 406,980 linear filing inches for archieve boxes (total of 30,275 boxes).

Douron workied closely with the contractor to coordinate swift installation: we installed rails and sub plywood flooring, VCT instyallation, then carriages and shelving.  Upon completion we moved all the files from their old location to the new file systems.


Maryland Forensics Lab, 2010

This State of the Art 120,000 square foot facility is home to the states Chief Medical office. Douron, in partnership with Montel designed a combination of different high density systems for records storage  and wet specimen storage solutions. The wet specimen storage required a system that would handle items and specimens carefully, and would be able to storage a variety of item sizes from very small to very large. Our full depth adjustable height shelving with removable center backstops provided exceptional flexibility; our shelves were lined with rubber matting to eliminate shifting of items. VCT flooring was installed to unify the layout with the rest of the area.
